My choice of clothing has always been items that are a bit unusual, not too fussy or feminine, sexy without being overtly so, well fitting and made from quality fabrics that drape well or are natural, like linen and silk. In my teens and twenties I used to make all my own clothes. My style has over the years been slightly bohemian (paisley, bell bottoms, hipsters, flower power), with influences such as Stevie Nicks - fingerless gloves, raw edges, and fedora hats, and in the eighties and nineties I favoured brands like In-Wear, Miss Sixty, Firetrap and the early stages of Per Una. In recent years I find a lot to like in Zara, still have quite a lot of staples from Next in my wardrobe, bits from F & F and selective items from Joe Browns.
I have run a graphic design studio for over 30 years in Lancashire and now spend more time (since Covid) painting and selling art through my virtual gallery (heapey gallery) on artfortheworkplace.co.uk
I was brought up by the sea in Lyme Regis, Dorset and return often to be with family.
